Advantages of Vurcon industrial CNC milling machines
In industrial machining, what is colloquially called a "CNC milling machine" is, in practice, a numerically controlled machining center: a machine that combines a milling spindle, an automatic tool changer and CNC programming to produce metal parts with accuracy and repeatability. Vurcon manufactures and distributes this machinery within its range of machining centers.
Compared with a conventional milling machine, a CNC milling machine reduces dependence on manual adjustment by the operator and makes it possible to repeat the same part with the same result across different production runs.
Technical features of our CNC milling machines for metal
The Vurcon range covers everything from compact vertical machines to double-column centers for large-format parts. The vertical models work with spindles of up to 10,000 rpm and BBT40 taper; the double-column models, designed for larger and heavier parts, feature BT50 taper and spindle speeds of up to 6,000 rpm, with tool changers of up to 60 positions.
- Vertical models: X travels from 650 to 1,700 mm
- Double-column models: X travels of up to 3,100 mm
- Automatic tool changers across the entire range
Available CNC milling machine models
Vurcon offers two main families: the vertical machining centers of the VL series, for small and medium-sized parts, and the double-column machining centers of the DC series, aimed at the large, heavy parts typical of sectors such as mold and die or heavy engineering. Check with our technical team which model best suits your production.
Frequently asked questions about purchase and maintenance
Are a CNC milling machine and a machining center the same thing?
In today's industrial catalog, yes: when people talk about a CNC milling machine they usually mean a machining center with milling capability, which is what Vurcon manufactures and distributes.
Which model do I need for the size of my parts?
It depends on the travel, the worktable and the weight of the part to be machined. Our technical team will help you compare the different models in the range to find the right configuration.
Can different metals be machined on the same machine?
Yes, always within the power and spindle speed limits of the model. For materials with very different cutting requirements, it is advisable to review the recommended tooling and parameters with our technical team.
