Vurcon DC1330 gantry machining center
Gantry machining center with a 3000x1300 mm table and 3100/1400/800 mm travels for parts up to 7000 kg
The Vurcon DC1330 gantry machining center extends the heavy-duty machining offer of the DC series with an X travel of 3100 mm, one meter more than the DC1020, while keeping the same usable table width of 1300 mm. Its architecture is double-column with 23,000 kg in weight and a distance between columns of 1400 mm and is designed for long, bulky parts that do not fit on the compact gantry machines in the range.
With a table of 3000x1300 mm and a load capacity of 7000 kg, the DC1330 can clamp parts that would require successive repositioning on vertical machines. Its spindle head with spindle taper BT50, main motor of 15/18.5 kW, 143 Nm of torque and a speed of 6000 rpm is optimized for heavy stock removal in steels and hard materials. The positioning accuracy of ±0.028 mm in X, ±0.015 mm in Y and ±0.016 mm in Z ensures dimensional control over the entire usable length.
What jobs is this model ideal for?
-
Long, heavy parts: Frames, beams, profiles and machine beds over 2 meters long that require a single setup to maintain concentricity.
-
Large-format molds and dies: Injection mold bases, stamping dies and heavy mold holders where the rigidity of the gantry and the spindle taper BT50 allow aggressive roughing.
-
Energy and construction sector: Turbine components, flanges, rings and steel structures for power generation, wind energy and civil engineering.
-
Machining of machine beds and structures: Machinery manufacturers that need to machine their own bases and columns in-house, bringing previously subcontracted work in-house.
Key profitability points
-
3000 mm long table with 7000 kg load capacity: Handles long parts in a single setup, eliminating repositioning that adds time and compromises geometric accuracy.
-
BT50 taper with 15/18.5 kW motor and 143 Nm of torque: The larger toolholder and the available torque allow bigger tools and deeper cuts in steels, reducing the number of roughing passes.
-
Gantry architecture with 23,000 kg of own weight: The structural mass absorbs vibrations in heavy machining and maintains geometry even when the part is off-center on the table.
-
Distance between columns of 1400 mm: Enough clearance to accommodate wide parts and bulky fixtures without sacrificing gantry rigidity.
-
Travels of 3100/1400/800 mm: A large working volume that reduces reliance on subcontracting for parts that exceed the capacity of a conventional vertical machining center.
Control and ease of use
The DC1330 is available with the most widely used controls on the market: Fanuc, Fagor, Siemens and Heidenhain. This flexibility makes it possible to stay consistent with the workshop's existing machine fleet, shortening the operator's learning curve and making use of programs and post-processors already validated in production.
Configuration options
The DC series offers several configurations to match the machine to production needs: spindle head drive by belts, direct-drive motor or gearbox; drum-type tool changer with 24 or 30 positions or chain-type changer with 32, 40, 60 or 80 positions; and heads with horizontal and vertical movement for angled machining. Chip evacuation is handled by a chain-type conveyor and two chip augers.
