The Vurcon PL-36x1000 is the variant with a distance between centers of 1,000 mm of the most compact model in the PL series of flat-bed CNC lathes. With a maximum turning diameter of ø360 mm and a A2-6 spindle nose, it gives workshops with limited space the possibility of handling longer parts without giving up the maneuverability and standard equipment of the PL-36.

What jobs is this model ideal for?

• Industrial maintenance: repair and grinding of shafts, bushings and machine elements up to 1,000 mm in length, with the versatility of a flat-bed CNC lathe and the option of manual operation.

• Manufacturing medium-size parts in small batches: quality turning of carbon steel, brass or aluminum, where flexibility matters more than series production and complete standard equipment is valued.

• Technical training workshops: a combination of compact size, Fagor CNC control and manual operation with mechanical handwheels, ideal for teaching CNC turning and dual vocational training.

Control and ease of use

The PL-36x1000 is equipped with the CNC control Fagor 8060 Elite-T-ICU, one of the most widely used platforms in Spanish workshops thanks to its ease of programming and its conversational environment. Basic cycles —turning, facing, drilling and threading— are programmed through guided menus, which shortens the learning curve and lets operators without deep G-code experience run real production from the first weeks. The control's functions are complemented by the mechanical handwheels, which provide sensitivity for manual approaches and fine adjustments during setup.

Configuration options

The standard configuration covers most conventional turning needs. The PL-36x1000 accepts upgrades on request depending on the type of part, the sector and the degree of automation required by the workshop, while maintaining mechanical compatibility with the other variants of the PL-36 series.
