The Vurcon PL-50x750 is the variant with a distance between centers of 750 mm in the PL-50 series, the mid-range position in Vurcon's line of flat-bed CNC lathes. It combines mid-range turning capacity —maximum swing over bed of ø500 mm— with the reduced footprint of a short bed, ideal for cylindrical parts of limited length in workshops with tight space.

• 15 kW headstock with continuous speed from 30 to 3,000 rpm: increased power compared with compact models, allowing high cutting speeds on aluminum and high torque on steels. Continuous speed control simplifies programming and optimizes cutting conditions for each material.

• 3-jaw chuck Ø250 mm and 8-position turret: standard equipment designed for real production, with room to set up roughing, finishing, drilling and threading tools in a single turret setup. The spindle nose ISO702/A2-8 and the bar capacity of ø80 mm provide room for substantial cylindrical parts.

• Complete set of steady rests and tailstock: the steady rests (20-130 mm and 130-260 mm), the follow rest (20-80 mm) and the manual tailstock with Morse taper MT5 included as standard make it possible to handle long parts and maintenance jobs without additional purchases.

• Rapid traverses and travels sized for production: the rapid traverses of 4 m/min in X and 8 m/min in Z, together with the X-axis travel of 1,000 mm, provide operational agility between operations. The tool shank size of 25x25 mm allows the use of robust toolholders.

Control and ease of use

The PL-50x750 is available with the leading CNC controls on the market —SIEMENS, FAGOR and FANUC—, allowing the workshop to align the machine with its current fleet and minimize the learning curve. The standard configuration includes the Fagor 8060 Elite-T-ICU, with its conversational programming environment and guided cycles for the most common turning operations. The manual handwheels provide sensitivity for approaches and fine adjustments during setup.

Configuration options

The PL-50 range accepts additional configurations depending on the sector and the predominant type of part: hydraulic tailstocks, hydraulic chucks for automatic clamping, specific tooling packages and other adaptations on request. The mechanical structure shared with the other PL-50 variants makes future upgrades easier and simplifies maintenance and spare parts availability.
